A Short Compilation of Lists
- Two pairs of jeans. My only pairs.
- One of three shirts I brought.
Items I should have brought with me:
- Guitar.
- More jeans.
- More clothes, period.
Books I read in Flores, listed from the best to the worst:
1. Dan Brown, The DaVinci Code (note that "best" does not equal "fantastic").It's better than I expected. His history of the middle ages is surprisingly good, but his grasp of early church history leaves much to be desired. Particularly the part about the Vatican cementing their grip on power during the Council of Nicaea, when in fact Rome was not represented at the Council.
2. Michael Moore, Dude, Where's My Country?Apparently, Bin Laden could not possibly have been behind the 9/11 attacks, because he had a kidney ailment that required dialysis, which, as we all know, keeps people from ordering other people on planes. As entertaining as it was, I could only find the energy to skim it.
3. Stephen King, From a Buick 8.Ha ha ha ha ha...the back cover speaks for itself.
"Wrong...just wrong." Kinda like the entire book itself, and the three hours I spent reading it.The state police of Troop D in rural Pennsylvania have kept a secret in Shed B out back of the barracks ever since 1979, when Troopers Ennis Rafferty and Curtis Wilcox answered a call from a gas station just down the road and came back with an abandoned Buick Roadmaster. Curt Wilcox knew old cars, and he knew immediately that this one was...wrong, just wrong. A few hours later, when Rafferty vanished, Wilcox and his fellow troopers knew the car was worse than dangerous -- and that it would be better if John Q. Public never found out about it.
